Red, WINE, + Blue Slushie

Happy JULY, friends! Why does it seem like it took 3 years for us to get to May and about 3 days for us to get to July!? Anyone else!? Either way, we are SO excited to start the month out the best way we know how. — celebrating our beautiful country! Today’s drink is a little more involved than our normal 2 minute cocktail, but we think the 4th of July is a worthwhile cause… plus it’s worth the labor.

Introducing our Red WINE + Blue Slushie! It’s our take on a frozen wine slushie..only there are multiple wines AND it’s patriotic. YAAAAS!!

Here’s what you’ll need:
1 Bottle Delatorri Sparkling Moscato
1 Bottle Myles & Moore Rosé
1/2 c Lemonade
Ice (lots of ice)
2 tbsp Grenadine
1/4 c Frozen Cherries
1/4 c Frozen Blueberries
1/4 Cup Sweetened Coconut Milk
3 drops blue food coloring
Blender, nutribullet, etc.

Here’s how you make it:
You will start by doing one layer at a time. We decided to go blue on the bottom, white in the middle, and red on top. Little disclaimer for you: Once they were all poured over one another, however, they kind of marbleized into an adorable tie-dye looking treat because, as you can imagine in July, they melt pretty quickly. Regardless, the end product is so fun and yummy! Ooookay, ANYWAY! Back to what I was saying — let’s make this baby!
In your blender, combine 1/2 cup ice, 1 cup lemonade, 2/3 cup frozen blueberries, and 3 drops blue food coloring. Blend until consistency is that of a slushie. If your mixture gets too runny, just add a few more frozen berries — they act as ice without watering it down. Next, you can either pour that in your glass *OR* another option is to stick it in the freezer until you’re all the way ready to pour each part. This might be a better idea ;).
Next up,  it’s your white layer. After cleaning out your blender, combine 1/2 cup ice, 1 cup Delatorri Sparkling Rosé, and 1/4 cup sweetened coconut milk. Blend to desired consistency, and pour (or freeze). Finally, make your red layer. After cleaning your blender one last time, combine 1/2 cup ice, 1 cup Myles & Moore Rosé, 2 tbsp grenadine, and 1/4 cup frozen cherries. Blend to desired consistency. Pour over blue and white layers or stick in the freezer if you’re waiting to serve. The trick is really just making sure they are thick enough and equal in their consistencies to stack. Otherwise you will get your marble-y mixture sooner than you might want. But like we mentioned earlier, the marble/tie-dye look is kind of adorable and we are a little bit obsessssed!! We garnished ours with some cute little American Flag toothpicks, but you have options! Throw some fruit on top, add a fruit skewer with cherries and blueberries, or make something we haven’t even thought of! But get creative and have fun with it!

Voila! That’s it. It’s actually an extremely easy process, it’s simply a bit more time consuming than our other drinks! And if you’re reading this thinking, “hold UP! I come here for QUICK and easy cocktails — we STILL got you, mama! If you want to cut down on time and ingredients but still get the effects and the TASTE of the slush — you can make a layered wine cocktail of 1/2 cup lemonade, 1 cup moscato, and 1 cup rosé! Throw some berries in there and boom — your drink is made and it’s pretty darn delicious, too.

We would love to see what fun variations you come up with while making your slushies! Tag us on instagram @corksandcheers & Facebook at Corks + Cheers! And as usual, check out our IG page for the recipe and video!

We hope you all have a fun, safe, and SUNNY Fourth! Enjoy your friends, family, fireworks, and all the fun treats! Cheers to our beautiful country and our beautiful community!

Man Makers

Friends! Happy JUNE! Hopefully you’ve been able to relax and enjoy some of the sunshine that we have all so desperately needed! We’re coming at you today with something a little different — as you know, we’re ALLLL about the mamas around here, but this weekend we’re putting all our energy toward showing love to the DADS! And for that reason, we have the perfect drink to spoil your dad, or baby daddy, or family member or friend who’s a dad! May we introduce, The Corks & Cheers Man Makers!

This DELICIOUS wine mixer was 100% created with our men in mind — and we went a route that we don’t go very often. We are adding BOURBON to our favorite red today! And listen, y’all… this one is AMAZING. I won’t lie, I think we were a little hesitant to try mixing bourbon and red wine, but we just might do it forever and ever now…this combo is amazing and will have the men in your life asking for more.

Here’s what you’ll need:
Bottle Chalkboard Cabernet Sauvignon
Shot of Makers Mark bourbon
1 Tbsp Simple Syrup
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice

And here’s how you do it:
You know we like to keep things simple…and this one delivers. In a glass (on the rocks if that’s what you fancy), combine your simple syrup, lemon juice, and Makers. Finish by topping with Cabernet. Then give your man the remote, and tell him to enjoy!

It really is that easy and like I mentioned, we were all so pleasantly surprised by the flavor of this one. It is delicious! Would be amazing paired with a nice steak or some seared salmon… or honestly just by itself! Regardless of how you (or Dad) enjoy it, we think it will be an instant favorite!

Happy Father’s Day to all you amazing dads out there! We are grateful for you and your influence on the ones you get to (or got to!) raise!

Cheers!

Clover Chardonnay

Top o’ the mornin’ to ya, friends! Whether your parents are actual leprechauns or you don’t have a lick of Irish in your bloodline, we are big believers that on March 17th, everybody is a little bit Irish! Which means everybody should be celebrating, right!?

And while Green Beer Day is basically a national (international?) holiday, we understand that not everybody is on board the beer train. So how about we just call it Green Drink Day, k? We think that’s something everybody can support.

So, in honor of Green Drink Day, allow us to introduce our Clover Chardonnay…the perfect green drink to sip your way through St. Patty’s Day this year. And per usual, it’s super simple to make!

Here’s what you’ll need:
2 limes, sliced
2 granny smith apples
1 can Simple Truth Lemon Lime seltzer water
1 bottle Magistrate Chardonnay

And here’s how you make it:
Begin by filling your glass with a handful of diced green apples and small lime slices. Pour half the can of seltzer water over the fruit. Top with Magistrate Chardonnay. Garnish with lime slices if you wish! (Makes 2 drinks)

Here’s hoping luck is on your side this St. Patty’s Day! Cheers, friends!

Citrus Chardonnay Mimosa

Y’all, can you feel it in the air!? Well, maybe not in the actual air, per-say, since it’s still pretty frigid cold here in the midwest, BUT all the retailers of the world are catching Spring Fever and we’re seeing bright, springy colors and sunny, spring breezes in the future!

So, what better to go with the bright colors than a bright, crisp, spring cocktail!? Enter our Citrus Mimosa featuring our Parker’s Estate Chardonnay.

Per usual it’s quick and easy to make! Here’s what you’ll need:
1 Lemon
1 Orange
Orange Triple Sec
San Pellegrino Sparkling Water
Parker’s Estate Chardonnay

And here’s how you make it:
Juice your orange and lemon, set aside. Over ice, pour 1 shot of Triple Sec. Add 2 oz of both the lemon juice and the orange juice. Add 2 oz San Pellegrino sparkling water. Finish with 4 oz Parker’s Estate Chardonnay. Garnish with orange and lemon slices, and serve!

Easy peasy lemon squeezy…literally! Cheers!

Raspberry Rosé Lemonade

Being that February is a month heavily populated by the color pink, we thought we’d bring you a recipe that is totally on brand for this month’s unspoken theme! This little drink is, per usual, wildly simple to make and it really is DELISH!

Introducing, Raspberry Rosé Lemonade featuring Rue de Pearl Rosé.

Here’s what you’ll need:
Rue de Pearl Rosé
Sanpellegrino Limonata
Raspberries
Lemon for garnish

After reading that ingredients list you probably already realize how darn simple this is going to get, don’t you?! This is all you gotta do: Start with a handful of raspberries and drop them into your glass. You could muddle them if you prefer that, but we went with whole berries. Over the berries, pour your Limonata about halfway up the glass. Top with Rue de Pearl Rosé and garnish with a lemon slice.

Like, really…how much simpler does it get?! And this one is AMAZING. So refreshing to drink but not overly sweet. We cannot say enough good things about it!

Let us know if you make it and give us all your thoughts…but we’re pretty sure you’re going to love it!

Cheers, friends!

Waffles + Wine

Love is in the air over here and we are so excited about it! Whether you’re spending V-Day with your spouse, your gals, or you’re flying solo this year, we have the perfect little treat to help you celebrate!

If you’ve been around here for any amount of time, you know that we are big believers in a good wine pairing…and more specifically, we’re big believers that Lindt chocolate really is the best compliment to our wines! But wait — it gets better. How about adding a mini-waffle complete with whipped cream and fruit topping?! Oh.Yes. Happy Valentine’s Day to us!

Here’s what you’ll need:
Waffle iron (we went with this darling heart shaped mini iron)
Waffle mix
Whipped cream
Strawberries (or fruit of your choice)
Lindt chocolate

We chose to pour a glass of our amazing Myles & Moore Cabernet Sauvignon to sip on and may we just add — we nailed it. This cab was the perfect wine to enjoy with our waffles!

No matter what this Valentine’s Day holds for you, we hope you give a little extra love and feel a little extra in return. No matter what life looks like, we all get the choice to choose love. And that’s a cause we can get behind!

Cheers, friends! Xoxo!

Dip It & Gift It: Holiday Edition

Why fix something that ain’t broken, right!? Right! Which is why we’re back with another classic Dip It & Gift It option for you to use this holiday season!

Look, we aren’t trying to induce panic here, but the holidays are literally happening, like…right now. NOW. Translation: If you haven’t already, START SHOPPING. And if you need help gifting, keep reading!

Despite the amount of gifts you’re probably responsible for giving, we have at least a few gifts covered for you with this easy and adorable little guy! *Cue the superhero-save-the-day-music* It’s so easy — grab a bottle of your person’s favorite wine (we used, and highly recommend, Storyteller Pinot Noir). Once you’ve picked out your wine, you’ll need to grab some melting chocolate, press n’ seal, a basting brush, and a pot to melt your chocolate. A stove or an electric burner will also be necessary.

And here’s how you make the magic happen: Set your burner to med-high heat. Pour your melting chocolate into your pot and stir every minute or so until smooth. While your chocolate is melting, take your plastic wrap and wrap your bottle, leaving the top open. In this particular case, we used our delicious Rue de Pearl Rosé. Ensure that the plastic goes all the way to the bottom and wrap it underneath, so as to keep the chocolate from touching the actual bottle. Now, you’re ready to dip (or in our case, paint!) We used a silicone basting brush to essentially “paint” on the chocolate which made the process SO easy, but you can use whatever you’d like. At this point, take the basting brush in the chocolate and paint your bottle and again, leave the top clean. We went around the bottle a few times to get the chocolate nice and thick, but this is a total preference thing. You can’t really mess this up, we promise! Lastly, while the chocolate is still melted, add your sprinkles for the perfect finishing touch! After this, let your chocolate dry (about 5-10 minutes in the freezer will do the trick!) Once dry, wrap your adorable bottle in a plastic bag, tie a ribbon around the top, add one of our DARLING gift tags, and boom! You’re ready to gift it.

Not only does this make your life much easier, we’re pretty sure chocolate and wine is gonna make the lucky wine recipient’s life easier, too! We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again — you cannot go wrong with the gift of wine!

For our cute gift tags, download & print here:

And as if you need help showing the lucky recipient how to put this gift to use, it’s literally as simple as this: grab a plate or bowl and place the covered bottle in the center, then begin peeling the the press n’ seal off and letting the chocolate crack off and fall. Toss your wrap in the trash, grab the corkscrew, and get to pouring! Wham Bam — chocolate and wine right at your fingertips!

Here’s to making your holiday gift-giving a little easier, and a lot sweeter!

Happy Holidays, friends! Cheers to life, love, family, and friends this season!
