Moscato Mule

Oookay, y’all! Where are our Moscow Mule lovers at!? Because over here at C+C HQ, we are BIG fans of a good mule, so we’re honestly a little embarrassed that it has taken us this long to create a wine version of one of our very favorite drinks. But, alas, we did it and it is well worth the wait. Introducing our twist on the Moscow Mule — it’s our Moscato Mule! (*squeals with excitement*).

Here’s what you’ll need:
-1 bottle Chalkboard Moscato
-Schwepp’s Gingerbeer (or brand of your choice)
-Fresh limes for juice and garnish

And here’s how you make it:
You can probably put 2 and 2 together here, but in case you want us to give the deets, here we go. In a mule glass, pour ginger beer over ice, top with Moscato, and squeeze the juice of about half of a lime. Garnish with lime slice, sip, and enjoy!

Yup, it’s really that easy. And it is SO crisp and delicious. We think it’s the best drink to carry you out of the end of the summer and into the fall. And it really is the perfect twist on your normal mule without sacrificing the flavor and refreshment that we all love! Serve it up at your next gathering or just make a couple for you and your babe to enjoy out on the patio one night! Either way, we think you’ll be refilling your glass a time or two.

As always, you can check out our instagram @corksandcheers for the video on how to make it!

Cheers, friends!

Cherry Pie + Zinfandel

Cherry Pie + Zinfandel

Let’s be honest — Pinterest is great. Blogger moms are amazing. Cooking things from scratch is wildly admirable. Joanna Gaines might be superhuman. But MOMS. Regular Moms are the real MVPs. Can I get a witness?! Moms who have 1, 2, 6, 10 kids with 25 different practices, lessons, therapies, and school projects to handle in a week are the ones who deserve to wear the superhero capes and win the trophies.

And who better to encourage the moms that YOU’RE DOING JUST FINE than your friends here at Corks + Cheers?! Listen — we get it. While we believe the saying “you have the same amount of time in a week as Beyoncé,” we also believe you don't have the same amount of drivers, nannies, or maids as Beyoncé. So there. That’s settled.

What you'll need:

*Bottle of Pinetti Notte Zinfandel

*Marie Callender's ready-to-bake pie

So what do you do when you’re asked to make a delicious dessert for your Thanksgiving party this year? You get real with ‘em and do what we did. Our friends at Marie Callender’s make delicious ready-to-bake pies, making your life 400x easier. We went with the cherry pie and it did not disappoint! And then, because you’re an awesome mom, you wow the crowd by throwing in a bottle of our Pinetti Notte Zinfandel. The aromas of cherry and subtle hints of blackberry in the wine make for the perfect compliment the pie! Plus, what takes the focus off of a non-homemade dessert better than a good bottle of wine? Zin for the win, amirite?!

Wham bam, thank you ma’am — easy as pie! HA! Get it!? Now go enjoy your holidays instead of stressing out over what you’re going to bring to your next party!
Cheers, friends, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Hard Moscato Cider

Hard Moscato Cider

We’re all in for fall over here and today’s little autumn beverage is easily in our top 3 favorite things we have ever made. Yes. Ever.Look, it’s no secret that we’re big believers in the magic of wine and it’s ability to actually mend broken hearts and turn sadness into billowing joy and calm nerves and bring a community of friends together just by EXISTING. Like seriously, we love you, wine. BUT — you know what else we love? Things that mix well with wine…and today we have a DELICIOUS little mixer that we want to serve our friends until the end of time. Or the end of fall…but whatever.

So without further ado, we give you a C+C original - Hard Moscato Cider. Oh yes…those 3 words all put together to make one drink…and it’s as good as it sounds.

What you'll need:

* 2 shots Whipped Cream Vodka

* 1/2 bottle Chalkboard Moscato

* 2 quarts Apple Cider (this is 1/2 of a half gallon)

* Caramel Apple Dip

* Pinch of Cinnamon

*Apple slices to garnish

Here’s how to make it:

Combine Moscato, apple cider, and vodka together in pitcher or container of choice. Stir and chill. While the cocktail chills and before pouring it into glasses, open your caramel apple dip and, one-at-a-time, dip your glasses into the caramel until rim is completely covered. When drink is chilled to your preference, remove from refrigerator and serve. Garnish with thinned apple slices and a pinch of cinnamon.

…..annnnnd then repeat, repeat, repeat for the rest of fall. We know you guys are going to LOVE this one.

Cheers!

Apple Wine Glasses

Apple Wine Glasses

It’s official, y’all. Fall is upon us and here at C+C, we are ALLLL the way here for it. Honestly, if it’s wrong to love all things pumpkin and apple and cinnamon, all things cool weather and crunchy leaves — then we don't want to be right!
We’ve got a super fun little fall “craft” for you today that will add a little spice to your next get-together, AND this one can even be kid friendly if you’re feeling like an extra go-getter mom this week…but that’s totally up to you! While we are obviously all for your classic wine glass — today we’re sharing a new stemless option for you! Introducing our pretty — and yummy —cinnamon apple wine glasses.

What you'll need:

  • Large apples (1 apple per
        person/cup)
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • Cinnamon sticks for garnish
(optional — but really stinking cute)
  • 1 bottle Parker’s Estate Chardonnay
       (or wine of your choice
  • And here’s how you do it:

Start by cutting off the top of your apple — my advice to you would be to cut less than you think, because you can always go back and cut more, but you can’t put the apple back together. Speaking from experience here… hello, hi…I did this. Next, empty out that apple! Dig inside and get the core and the middle of it all scraped out so that it looks like a cup. Highly recommend using a melon-baller or something of the sort so as to not slice through your apple with a knife. Again…speaking from experience. (Aren’t you glad we messed up so you don’t have to!?) Finally, mix together your cinnamon and sugar and place on a plate. Turn your apple upside down and get the rim of that apple-glass allllll sugared up! Finally, fill with a wine (or kid beverage) of your choice, and garnish with cinnamon sticks! And voila! It’s that simple.

Finally, for our glasses, we used the Parker’s Estate Chardonnay and would give that a resounding 10/10. It paired WONDERFULLY with the fruity apple flavor, plus that little bit of cinnamon sugar on your lips every time you take a sip is the perfect amount of sweet to compliment the full flavor of the wine.

Cheers to fall, y’all! We hope you love your new glassware!

    ‘BOO’ZE your Friends!

    You've Been Boozed

It’s the BEST time of the year around here and we have a fun, festive little fall activity for the big people on the blog today!

Maybe it’s just where we’re from, but neighborhoods ALL over our city participate in the annual “BOO”-ing of their friends around Halloween. Basically, you fill a bowl or bag of Halloween treats, leave it on a neighbor’s doorstep, and then they hang their ghost on the door and pass the fun on to two more families. Super cute, super fun, and the kids LOVE getting candy early…duh!

BUT what if we told you there was an even better version of this for all the parents out there?! Oh yes — WE. GOT. YOU. MAMA. It’s the same concept as the candy on the porch, except you’re getting ‘BOO’ZED, not Boo’d! And ALLLL the mamas said AMEN!

It’s simple — print out this adorable template and tie it around your favorite bottle of wine or booze of your choice. Leave it on your neighbor’s porch, then they’ll stick the print to their door and pass it along! When you see a house with the tag on their door, you know they’ve already been Boozed, so hit someone new! Then watch as, day by day, your entire neighborhood suddenly seems just a little bit happier! 😉

AND — if you don’t have neighbors, you can get your coworkers, friends, or even perfect strangers! We’re pretty sure NO ONE will be upset with an unopened bottle of wine, right?

Happy Halloween and Happy Booz’ing, y’all!
